I bring the warmth of lightly smoked oak into your home — a natural, warm tone that lends a space cosiness without any artificial effects. I am a 1900 x 190 x 14 mm plank with a 3 mm top layer of real oak, so I look and feel like solid wood yet go down far more easily. My surface is brushed and hand-scraped, so every plank has a lively, tangible texture, while the oil preserves the wood's natural appearance. The wide 190 mm plank visually expands a room and lets the wood's figure unfold in all its beauty. If you are looking for a floor that looks mature and natural from day one, I am worth choosing.
Character
I am classic rustic oak (Rustik grading) — I do not chase perfection, so in my planks you will see lively knots, a play of colour and the wood's natural figure. Light smoking gives me a warmer, calmer shade, while brushing and hand-scraping accentuate the annual growth rings — a surface not only seen but felt under bare feet. Bevels on all four edges clearly separate each plank, so the floor looks as though it were laid from solid boards. The oiled surface does not shine — it is softly matt, natural, warm. My character suits those who value real wood with all its stories, rather than a sterile, uniform surface.
Where it fits
A true all-rounder, I feel at home anywhere — in the living room, bedroom, study or hallway. My rustic character unfolds especially beautifully in spaces meant for cosiness: by the fireplace, beneath wooden furniture, beside linen curtains. My natural, warm tone befriends light Scandinavian-style walls and richer interiors alike. I am also suitable over water-based underfloor heating — in that case it is recommended to glue me down to the subfloor so the heat spreads evenly. The drop-down click system also lets me be installed floating, so I settle in just as quickly in a renovation as in a new home.
Worth knowing
Each pack contains 2.888 m² of flooring. When calculating quantities, allow 10% for cutting waste — that way you will have enough material along the walls and around openings. I install with the drop-down click system: a plank is simply lowered into place and locks, so the work goes quickly even when working alone. I am an oiled floor, so my care is simple: refresh the surface with maintenance oil from time to time, and small marks or scratches can be dealt with locally, without sanding the whole floor. Before installation, give me a few days to acclimatise in the room — I am natural wood and need to adjust to your home's humidity and temperature.
