What this floor brings to your space
I bring into your home dark, richly smoked oak — the kind you picture when you think of old manor houses and cosy attics. I am a lightly smoked, oiled oak plank whose surface is deeply brushed and hand-scraped, so every step across me recalls real, living wood. My 1900 x 190 mm format visually expands a space, while the 14 mm thickness with a 3 mm top layer of oak lends solidity. Beside pale walls and natural textiles I create a contrast that gives a space depth and calm — no artificial effects, just wood and time.
Character
I am rustic-graded oak, so I make no secret of my knots and natural play of colour — on the contrary, I take pride in them. Light smoking deepens my tone to a rich, dark shade, and deep brushing opens up the wood's texture, which you will feel even under bare feet. The hand-scraped surface gives each plank subtly perceptible undulations, as though I had already served for decades. I have bevelled edges on all four sides, so each 190 mm wide plank stands out clearly in the floor. The oiled surface stays matt and natural — no gloss, just warm, living wood you want to touch.
Where it fits
I unfold best in spacious, light-filled rooms where my dark tone becomes a firm foundation for the interior — in the living room, dining room, bedroom or home library. I pair superbly with modern, classic and loft styles alike: smoked oak befriends black metal as well as pale linen or accents of greenery. Long, wide planks look most beautiful in larger spaces, where my pattern can unfold freely. If you are planning water-based underfloor heating — it suits me; in that case it is simply recommended to glue me down to the subfloor so the heat spreads evenly and the floor stays stable all year round.
Worth knowing
Installation with me is simple: the drop-down click system lets a plank simply drop into place, so you can manage the job yourself. Each pack contains 2.888 m² of flooring. When calculating quantities, always add a 10% allowance for cutting waste, especially if the space has alcoves or angled corners. I am an oiled floor, so my care differs from lacquered floors: refresh me with maintenance oil from time to time, and small marks can be dealt with locally, without sanding the whole floor. For everyday cleaning, a well-wrung mop and cleaning products made for wooden floors are all you need.
