Character
This is an engineered oak floor with a 3 mm top layer of real oak. The surface is brushed and white-oiled: brushing accentuates the natural wood pattern and texture, while the white oil lends a light, matt tone. ABC grading means a livelier pattern with colour differences, small knots and natural wood markings – the floor looks natural and individual, never sterile.
Where it fits
Geneva is a perfect match for bright, modern interiors – living rooms, bedrooms, kitchen and dining areas. The blocks are laid in a herringbone pattern, so they are installed by gluing to the subfloor rather than being pressed into one another. This floor has a tongue & groove joint and is suitable for water-based underfloor heating – in that case, gluing is likewise recommended. The herringbone pattern calls for careful preparation and precise layout, which is why the result looks especially elegant.
Worth knowing
A single block measures 600 x 120 x 14 mm, and one pack contains 0.576 m². A batch may include up to 16 % shorter planks. When calculating quantities, add around 10 % as a reserve for cutting and waste – this is especially important for a herringbone pattern. The surface is oiled, so maintain it with oil-care products and refresh the oil periodically to keep the wood protected. The 3 mm oak top layer allows the floor to be re-sanded and renewed in the future.
