Glue-down vinyl (LVT) means planks roughly 2–3 mm thick, bonded straight to a levelled subfloor. It is the lowest-build floor there is: in a renovation, doors rarely need trimming and transitions to neighbouring rooms stay virtually threshold-free. Bonded across its full area, the floor grips the subfloor rigidly, so footsteps sound quieter than on a floating floor, and the thin build passes underfloor heating warmth through efficiently. The material itself is 100 % waterproof, so kitchens and bathrooms are fair game. How does glue-down LVT differ from click vinyl?
Glue-down LVT is about 2–3 mm thick and bonded across its full area, while click SPC planks run about 5–5,5 mm with built-in underlay and float on the subfloor. The glued option needs a level base and adhesive, but delivers the lowest build and holds steadiest across large areas without transition profiles.
